Big IMPROVEMENTS coming to Kimberley North

The way it was. Current picture pending.

As you may know, the Kimberley North Improvement Association is undertaking a complete renovation at the Heather Heath and Coach Lane entrances. (This was discussed at the annual meeting and mentioned in the latest KNIA email newsletter.)

Our subdivision entrances are more than fifty years old. The walls were deteriorating due to their design and long term exposure to the elements. All of the wiring, light fixtures, and connections were poor condition and the irrigation system was unreliable and in need of major improvements.

We engaged landscape architects Conroy & Associates to draw up plans to address these issues. In addition to the wall renovations, there will also be a dramatic makeover of the landscaping around the entranceways and the islands on Heather Health Lane and Coach Lane. New low voltage LED lighting  and new irrigation systems will be installed throughout. Some of the existing trees will be removed and replaced with new trees, while some of the large trees are to remain.

The entrance wall work has already been completed. The sloping walls were reshaped using the existing bricks to give a stepped look. This allowed for the addition of limestone caps to give better protection from the elements and to add more visual detail. Repairs have been made where needed and the walls were power-washed.

Soon, the major landscaping work will begin. There may be times when traffic will need to shifted to expedite work and to ensure worker safety. Any interruption or inconvenience should be of a short duration. Please cooperate with the workers and drive with caution in the area. Please advise your friends, family, neighbors, and visitors to slow down when entering or exiting Kimberley North so that the workers are not placed in jeopardy

We expect that this transformation will improve the appeal of our neighborhood and encourage individual homeowners to do the same for their individual properties.
