WB Township is Flushing Our Water Mains

Water mains are flushed a few times each year to remove the mineral deposits which accumulate over time in the underground pipes. This buildup can restrict water flow and contribute to water discoloration.

Please limit water use as much as possible and refrain from doing laundry during the day of the process.

If you DO get sediment in your pipes (brownish water), do not be alarmed.

  • Let the COLD WATER ONLY run for a few minutes until it clears.
  • Run your outside water spigots first,
  • Then run all of your inside faucets, including the tub and shower, removing the aerators when possible.
  • Flush your toilets a few times.
  • The amount of time you leave your water spigots open is largely dependent on how long you were using your water during the flushing process.
  • Run the outside spigots at the end of the day for several minutes; the water should begin clearing.
