Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Events 2019

Fall event: Saturday, October 5, 2019, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
At the West Bloomfield Civic Center, 4550 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield Township
Open to West Bloomfield, Orchard Lake, and Sylvan Lake residents with ID.

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS INCLUDE
GARDEN/GARAGE: Fungicides, Herbicides, Insecticides, Pesticides, Automotive Fluids, Gasoline & Diesel, Kerosene, Propane, Car Batteries, Polishes, Bug Spray, Mercury, Metallic, Road Flares, All Paints (maximum 10 gallons per vehicle), Paint Solvents, Glues (solvent based), Wood Preservatives, Fluorescent Light Bulbs, Varnish, Asbestos, Oxidizers
KITCHEN/BATHROOM: Thermometers, Chemical Cleaners, Furniture Polish, Nail Polish, Aerosols, Smoke Detectors, Fire Extinguishers, Plastic Shopping Bags, Expired Medication (NO SYRINGES WILL BE ACCEPTED)
MISCELLANEOUS: Pool Chemicals, Household Batteries, Moth Balls, Solvents, Muriatic Acid, and Lighters
ELECTRONICS: Computers and Monitors, Typewriters, Microwave Ovens, Phones, Pagers, Printers, Fax Machines, Scanners, PDAs, Stereos, Radios, Cassette Players, Walkman, CD Players, MP3 Players, Clocks and TVs. A “Certificate of Recycling” will be available from vendor at no extra charge. Electronics should NOT be in boxes.
SHREDDING: On-site shredding of PERSONAL documents will be available (maximum 50 pounds per vehicle)
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL: On-site (Saturday only) for donations.
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED
Computer monitors with broken glass, Appliances, Water Heaters, Humidifiers, Dehumidifiers, Air Conditioners, Tires
Syringes cannot be accepted at the drop-off event. See below.

THINK SHARP! - home-generated needles, syringes, lancets
At Beaumont Medical Center, 6900 Orchard Lake Rd.
Beaumont Hospital will be offering a free community service for the collection of home generated needles, syringes and lancets. these items must be placed in rigid containers with lids and dropped off to the loading dock on the north side of the Beaumont Medical Center located at 6900 Orchard Lake Road (south of Maple Road).

FRIDAY EVENING DROP-OFF APPOINTMENTS
Available to West Bloomfield Residents only
- Friday before each event 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
- Personal shredding limit of 50 pounds.
- No St. Vincent De Paul donations accepted Friday evening.
SHUT-IN SERVICE
for West Bloomfield residents with physical limitations only. Township staff will pick-up Household Hazardous items from residents with physical limitations between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm on the Friday before each event.
